Terms of Use

Last updated: 9 June 2026

Draft for review. These terms are a working draft and will be finalised with our legal counsel; the definitive version will be published here.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DonateBloodCMR website and mobile application (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Who can use the Platform

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use DonateBloodCMR. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information, including a truthful date of birth and blood type, and to keep it up to date.

2. What DonateBloodCMR is — and is not

DonateBloodCMR is a connection and coordination platform that helps donors, seekers and hospitals find each other. We are not a hospital, clinic, blood bank, laboratory or medical provider. We do not collect, test, screen, store, transport or transfuse blood, and we do not provide medical advice. All medical decisions, screening, and the donation or transfusion itself are carried out by qualified medical professionals at a registered facility, at their discretion and on their responsibility.

3. Safety rules (you must follow these)

4. Your responsibilities

5. Verification & eligibility

We may ask you to verify your phone, email, identity, age, blood group and donation eligibility. Verification helps build trust but does not guarantee any user's identity, health, eligibility or conduct. Final eligibility to donate is always determined by medical staff at the time of donation.

6. No guarantee; assumption of risk

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that a compatible or available donor will be found, that any request will be fulfilled, that information provided by users is accurate, or that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. You understand that interacting with other users and donating or receiving blood carries inherent risks, and you assume those risks. Always rely on qualified medical professionals.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Cameroonian law, DonateBloodCMR and its founders, operators and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from: your use of (or inability to use) the Platform; the conduct, content, information, health status or eligibility of any user; any meeting, donation or transfusion; or any act or omission of a hospital, medical professional or third party. The Platform is a free service that merely facilitates connections between users.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DonateBloodCMR and its operators from any claims, damages, losses or expenses arising out of your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, or your interactions with other users.

9. Content & intellectual property

The Platform, its name, logo, design and content are owned by DonateBloodCMR and protected by law. You may not copy, modify or reuse them without permission. Content you submit remains yours, but you grant us the limited right to use it as needed to operate the service (for example, showing your profile to relevant users).

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, the safety rules, or the law, or that we reasonably believe pose a risk to users. You may delete your account at any time from your settings.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date; continued use of the Platform means you accept the changes.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon. Any dispute shall be subject to the competent courts of Cameroon, after a good-faith attempt to resolve it amicably.
